In the fast-paced world we live in today, we find ourself racing against time to check off tasks from our unending list of to-dos. The week often feels like a blur because of our inability to stop and smell the roses as they say. But the weekends don’t have to be the same. Swap the late-night parties, binge-drinking and deep-fried everything for a wholesome meal with a loved one or just yourself, a relaxing massage or catching up on your long-forgotten hobbies. f
We need reset and give our mind, body and soul a break. Or it’s saying hello to another week of clutter starting is the inevitable, Monday Blues. Something as simple as staying in your pjs all day, reading a book, a hearty lunch or just doing nothing can do wonders to your mind, body and soul.
Here are a few ways to reset over the weekend:
MIND
Declutter your mind by starting the day with a meditation session and a few relaxing yoga exercises.
Read A Book – Catch up on some good old fashioned reading. Add a cup of hot chai, a comfy corner and you’re set for the weekend.
Breathe Fresh Air by taking a stroll around your neighbourhood or catching the sunrise on your terrace.
Have A Brainstorming Session with your roomie or yourself to get the creative juices flowing. This will also get your mind ready to take on the week ahead.
BODY
Get Moving by starting the day with great workout sesh. Break away from your weekly workouts and try something new like cycling.
Stay Hydrated by getting your fix of 7 litres of water every day including weekends. Especially if you’re hungover from the night before.
Dry Brush your body with a natural fibre scrub. Apart from exfoliating your skin and removing dead skin cells, this also helps stimulate blood circulation.
Practice Good Sleep Hygiene by getting a good night’s rest. 7 to 8 hours is a must, but don’t over do it by going into a 48-hour weekend hibernation.
SOUL
Call Mom, she’s probably been waiting all week to hear from you. And if nothing, it’ll help to be pampered by her a little.
Hang With A Pup is by far my favourite activity – weekend or not. If you have a pet at home you know the benefits all too well, if you don’t visit an animal shelter, these little guys need all the love they can get.
Eat Plentifully and it’s okay to give into that guilty pleasure on the weekend. We suggest apple pie with vanilla ice cream.
Try Something New is always is good idea. Learn a new skill, try a new recipe or getaway to an off-beat destination.
