My new favorite exercise is a barre class called Physique 57. It kicks my ass, and raises it up!
As Tanya Becker, the co-founder and chief creative officer of Physique 57, explains, “Barre workouts are low-impact and easy to adjust to any fitness level.”
A class like Physique 57 can burn up to 500 calories for the hour. Doing a cardio-specific class? Stamp on another 200 calories.
If you’re into barre classes, Physique 57 mixes it up with cardio, stretch, and strength training.
The workouts range from 10 minutes to an hour each and cover strength training, cardio, and restorative workouts (all workouts are non-impact). If you have a specific goal in mind, you’ll also be able to pick from two to 12-week workout plans. Unlike Physique 57’s in-studio classes, these can be done without equipment.
Physique 57 is this model’s favorite workout class, she says “you see results in less then three classes. It’s very painful but results [basically] guaranteed.”
