Immunity Boosting Turmeric Mango Popsicles

As you’ve learnt from our other recipes in this immunity boosting series, turmeric is all sorts of good! It is anti-inflammatory, a potent antioxidant and great for digestion. That’s not all though, it also helps protect against bacterial and viral infections, which is a much needed ingredient in today’s world. This golden spice is also excellent at promoting good sleep, which is why traditionally turmeric milk is often had just before bedtime.

But how are you going to the get the kids to enjoy the many benefits of turmeric voluntarily? By combining it with everyone’s favourite fruit, mango and turning it into every kid’s favourite meal – popsicles!

This recipe can be customised to fit your taste buds. You can use coconut milk as a base for your turmeric milk and to give the popsicle a more creamy texture. You can also add chopped pistachio, coconut shavings or saffron strands for a little more flavour.

Ingredients:

2 cups mangoes, chopped (around 4 mangoes)

2 cups pre-made turmeric milk

2 tbsp coconut cream (optional, for extra creamy texture)

Instructions:

In a blender, add the mangoes, coconut cream and turmeric milk. Puree until all the ingredients are blended into a smooth, creamy texture.

Pour the ice cream mixture into popsicle moulds.

Freeze for 8 to 10 hours or overnight, until it is set well.

Enjoy cold on a hot sunny day!
