Another healthy and super delicious recipe from Shaana Levy-Bahl is lactation power balls. All through the month she has been taking us through some pro-tips on what nutrients and foods to have during and after pregnancy. This particular recipe is known to provide new mothers with tonnes of nutrients and much-needed energy, keeping you and your baby healthy.

Moringa is traditionally used to supplement the necessary minerals, vitamins and protein in breastfeeding mothers. It is known to have 12 times more vitamin C than oranges, 17 times more calcium than milk and 25 times more iron than spinach! Can you believe that? No wonder it’s the perfect pick-me-up for new moms.


1 cup pitted Medjool dates

1 cup unsalted dry toasted pecans

1/4 cup organic virgin coconut oil

1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract

1 tbsp flax seed powder

1/4 cup moringa leaf powder

2 tbsp cocoa powder

1/8 tbsp cinnamon powder

A pinch of finely ground sea salt

3/4 cup unsweetened shredded coconut (1/2 cup to be toasted and used for rolling)


Blend all the ingredients together in a food processor.

Roll the mixture into balls.

Once the rolls are done, roll them into toasted coconut.

Place in the freezer until they’re set.
